About this Journal
This is my "Personal" blog. I'll probably use it for little more than posting pictures or the occasional entry that does not fit well into my "Professional" Blog (bjs-redhat).

This shot is a close up on my father. He lead the pack. That also meant he also had the driver who qualified last. So would that be "he who goes first gets last?" ;)

I shoot mostly from the Corvette Corral just behind the starting line and the last curve as well as the Turn 7 Harepin (hard to catch a spin-out).

Been so busy with travel and a couple of other, professional endeavors that I had not taken the time to run through my pictures. Here are thirty-one (31) shots from the event. I'm looking forward to the Coke Zero 400 this July 4th weekend at Daytona.

Chris, our tour guide from the NPS at the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site (MIMI), discusses the Launch Control Facility (LCF) from the 8-ton door leading into the Launch Control Center (LCC) where a pair of officers played an instrumental part of our nuclear deterrence during the Cold War. This door was always closed, short of crew exchange and when hot meals were served.

As at many of these facilities, various art was sported on the walls or even the LCC door itself. For the Delta LCF of the 66th Missile Squadron, the "WORLD-WIDE DELIVERY IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS ... OR YOUR NEXT ONE IS FREE" with Domino's trademark image only with a "MINUTEMAN II" on the lower half of the box, says it all.

NOTE: The shot is a bit off-angle, because I'm off-angle. Moving more towards the center would put my shadow in the frame (yes, it was that late in the day, it was nearly dusk). Moving back to keep the shadow out of the frame would put me in the street.
